We understand that our environment impacts our lives every day, and the choices we make today will shape our future. Each person associated with Abu Dhabi Cooperative Society has a responsibility to contribute towards a brighter future for the planet.
As a retailer we recognise the impact that our operations can have on the environment. That’s why we work to reduce excess packaging and waste wherever possible. Many of our stores sell dry foods and fruits from large containers that can be weighed and priced individually rather than selling such items pre-packaged which reduces waste. We also offer alternatives to single-use plastic wherever possible and stock a wide variety of organic foods which are healthier for the land and beneficial to health.
We are also proud to run programmes that directly benefit our local communities. One such initiative called ‘Let’s Support Their Future’, aims to fund higher education places for underprivileged students through donations from staff and customers. Run in partnership with the Emirates Red Crescent and Abu Dhabi University, we aim to fund as many students as possible and enhance their future (and our nation’s future) by providing access to world-class higher education.
