SPAR HYPERMARKET OPENS IN RAS AL KHAIMAH

SPAR, the global supermarket chain present in 47countries, has celebrated the opening of their 27th SPAR store in the UAE in Ras Al Khaimah. Abu Dhabi Cooperative Society, the region’s leading supermarket chain own and operate SPAR UAE through a SPAR brand licensing agreement from SPAR International in the Netherlands. The 8,000sqm hypermarket was unveiled for trade by prominent RAK personality, Sheik Ahmed Aissa Al Naeem, Bejoy Thomas Pulickel COO of Abu Dhabi Coop and David Moore, International Retail Development Director of SPAR International. The 8,000sqm hypermarket is located in the prestigious Al Naeem Mall in the center of the city and boasts a full and modern hypermarket offering of over 55,000 products. The offer to the customer includes men’s, ladies and children’s apparel, electronics, textiles and general merchandise for the home and the broadest range of health and beauty products and cosmetics. The food range is tailored for both the Emiratis, expats and tourists with over 60% of all products on promotion in this value orientated market. The world class fresh offering includes, roastery, dates, fresh fish, Arabic bakery, imported and local fresh meats, food to go, delicatessen, Arabic snacks and sweets and healthy products. “This was a challenge to have this 8,000sqm hypermarket fitted out and trading within 18 days and this is a sheer testimony of committed team work in beating all odds. We wanted the store to be trading well ahead of the holy month of Ramadan so we bring an offering that was completely new to the emirate just before the Ramadan,” said Bejoy Thomas Pulickel, COO of Abu Dhabi Coop and SPAR UAE.
